One of the best tools we have at Advanced Chiropractic is called Spinal Decompression Therapy.

Dr. Chester has implemented this alternative treatment which is a non-surgical approach to help alleviate low back and neck pain, pinched nerves and other types of chronic pain. This is a non-invasive, non-surgical affordable therapy without the side effects of drugs or surgery.

Decompression may be of help those struggling with:

  • Herniated, Bulging or Degenerative Discs

  • Sciatica Pain

  • Degenerative Disc Disease

  • Post-Surgical Patients

  • Facet Syndrome

  • Spinal Stenosis

What to Expect

Prior to beginning treatments, Dr. Chester will evaluate you to determine to better understand your situation. Your medical history, x-rays, and examination will be reviewed carefully to determine if this is the best treatment method for you.

If Dr. Chester recommends this treatment for you, you will lie down on the spinal decompression table either face up or face down. A harness is attached to your low back that connects to the motorized unit of the table. We will make a calculation of your weight and enter it into the computer so the required amount of force may be used to distract your spine.

The spinal decompression table will gently pull separate the disks that need decompressed, and then relax. The process is repeated again and again in the session of up - normally within 10-30 mins. How many times Decompression is necessary is based on each individual and their specific needs.  However, it is important to complete your treatment plan to allow for the full healing process to occur (even if you start to feel improvement early on). It is not uncommon to experience a significant reduction in pain early in your treatments.

In a study of 30 patients who were primarily in their mid-60s and had low back pain for over three months, non-surgical spinal decompression increased the height of the disk from 7.5 mm to 8.8 mm. When this occurred, the patients reported a significant reduction in pain, from a pain rating of 6.2 on a scale of 1-10 where 10 is the highest amount of pain, to only 1.6. That’s quite incredible!
